My first one-page RPG uploaded

Well I've just jumped through all the hoops and uploaded my first One-page RPG - Shady Dealings.

Thought I'd take this opportunity to talk about things in the game I liked while I was writing it.

Mechanics - Influence tokens. With this I wanted to accomplish two things. Firstly make a PC think twice or hesitate before attacking, because attacking degrades your influence which is also a measure of PC health, and secondly it would encourage the PC teams to work together - I think coupled with the scenario ideas - where an outside influence threatens both of them, it I hope makes the groups work together. Having this stat as visible tokens on the table, might also make for some good team work - people too aggressive early on in the game may have to be protected in the late game by those who were more cautions.

I know have two 'attributes' in one simple stats will certainly not be to everyone's taste, but I think its a worthy experiment particularly if what I've just outlined happens at the table. And come, on one-page RPG are a good way to experiment.

Traits this was probably heavily influenced by the Cyberpunk RPG where we had to roll for a personality trait, a couple of us playing in the group got the equivalent of 'loner' which didn't make for a cohesive group!

So this did inspire me to think about rolling for traits in a more useful way, so this is where the obvious characteristic you show the world (Facades) and the hidden characteristic idea (Underlying Nature) came from, so if a PC is grumpy or polite or a narcissist, that a surface thing, you have to watch his or her actions to see the real underlying nature (greedy, honourable, self-centred)- and of course this creates a great role-playing challenge for the player with out being too rigid.

Anyway I hope you find what I written, at the very least, mildly amusing or inspirational.
